Synopsis:

LIT’S BE REAL is an online series aimed at introducing Caribbean writers to industry professionals overseas. It takes the form of frank, solution-oriented discussions with editors, educators, agents, and more, hosted by Amanda Choo Quan, the 2020 winner of the Johnson and Amoy Achong Caribbean Writers Prize.

Episode 2 of LIT’S BE REAL: MFA or Another Way addresses the questions: How much do Caribbean writers need academia to become successful? Should you be thinking about an MFA? What about heading overseas?

The recordings in this library give advice and insight on key areas of the book business from a wide range of publishing professionals working at home and abroad. In addition to publishing seminars, you can also access the Write Away! workshop series, developed as a teaching resource for guiding young, beginner-level writers (12 to 18 years) towards advancing their writing.
